This class is for the lover of hand stitching. The applique is all done by hand with wool felt and a variety of simple embroidery stitches. We will discuss fabric choices and colour. Wendy will show you how to lay out your design and choose borders and bindings. Make the whole quilt or just a smaller version.

Learn how to make a gorgeous small zipper pouch using vintage embroidered linen like tablecloths and tray cloths. Heleen will share her tips about making the most of your embroidery. You will also learn how to insert a zip and box a bag.

These cushions are great fun and quick to achieve for all skill levels. They use small scraps of wool felt and simple embroidery stitches. You might like to make them exactly as Wendy’s, or play with the shapes to create your own little village. This class includes some quick tips for making your cushions professionally including a quick way of inserting a zip.

Freezer paper for the applique is helpful

A fun project for beginner stitchers! Learn how to do the basic embroidery stitches, plus a few more interesting ones. You will receive fabric to practice on and then do one framed hoop wall art project that includes embroidery and beading.

Choose to make one or two table runners, both made with wool applique using combinations of fabric and felt. The class will cover techniques including needle turned applique and simple embroidery stitches. Wendy will discuss choosing fabrics and working with colour as well as looking at design layout. These are great projects for those of you who love hand stitching and those that would like to learn how.
