The HANDMADE 2013 programme is now live!

Venues for each class in our programme are now published on this website - they appear in each classes details on the programme pages and in the programme timetable.

This year our programme will feature three types of classes (Workshops, Masterclasses and First-Hand HANDMADE Lectures).

Each of the classes fall under one of the following categories:

Our HANDMADE experts will present three types of classes:

Workshops
Workshops are hands-on classes that give you the opportunity to learn under the guidance of our HANDMADE teachers. Workshops are designed to allow you to complete the item you’re making, so that you learn the complete process.
Masterclasses
Masterclasses are presentations from well-known and highly-regarded experts in their field, and most include demonstrations of craft. Masterclass presentations give you the opportunity to watch and learn, with helpful tips along the way, as well as getting to know a little more about these HANDMADE masters.
First-Hand HANDMADE Lectures
Lectures are captivating talks offering an opportunity to explore craft and beautiful handmade things in a different way. Speakers from various areas will provide new and interesting insights in these 55 minute presentations.

In addition to the classes above we have two new programme initiatives this year:

HANDMADE JUNIORS
A small number of our workshops are available to children 7 years plus to attend with a paying adult. Only one child can attend per adult ticket purchased. Children attend free of charge and must be pre-booked in the class. Please contact handmade@avenues.co.nz or 0800 770 772 to make a HANDMADE JUNIORS booking prior to booking the adult ticket for a JUNIORS class. Very limited spaces available.
KNIT LOUNGE TASTER CLASSES
Held in the Knit Lounge, these 1 hr classes will introduce attendees to the beginnings of knitting – limited to 10 places per class and taught by a friendly expert teacher this is your chance to learn to knit! $10 per person, pre booking essential.

Come and visit the HANDMADE STORE during your HANDMADE weekend to see an exciting array of crafty items to both admire and purchase!

Back again for 2013! The HANDMADE Knit Lounge will be open thoughout the weekend - talk to our knitting experts and get advice – you can even bring in your mistakes and they'll show you how to fix them!

HANDMADE Finishing Room – Presented by Nancy's

Back for 2013! The HANDMADE Finishing Room will be open thoughout the weekend with experts on hand to give tips and guidenace to help you finish your HANDMADE class items.

Join our HANDMADE experts and your fellow crafters at the end of your first HANDMADE day – mix and mingle and purchase from the HANDMADE STORE!

HANDMADE 2013 Skill Level Rating

Each of the Workshops in the programme are rated according to how easy or difficult the item will be to make. Where there is no difficulty rating this means it is a non making class and open to any skill level.
